
AIA SEEKS 3 DYNAMIC CURATORIAL ASSISANT AND PRODUCTION ASSISANT INTERNS TO WORK ON A GHANA MUSIC EXHIBITION THIS SUMMER.
African Image Alliance as part of its Ghana 50 Festival season is now looking for 3 Interns to join its team. You will work on the Ghana 50 Music Exhibit at the Black Cultural Archives which begins the end of July 2007.
Job Description
Assist in all aspects of production of the Exhibition of African music and Heritage at the Black Cultural Archives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Production Assistance including;
Coordination of our music workshop programme
Assist in community outreach
Assist in exhibition archival and documentation
Assist in sourcing website Exhibition content
Essential skills required
Relevent Qualifications or experience in exhibition management or curating.
Working knowledge and understanding of West African music an advantage.
Must be able to work as part of a team
Excellent computer skills, computer literature on a variety of programmes including, Access, Excel and Word.
Must be able to multi-task and work in a varied environment.
You must have your own laptop with wireless connection.
Skills Required
Excellent communication and people skills
Must punctual, reliable and very organised.
Must able to use own initiative, be good at research and be able to work independently.
Knowledge of West African music a definate advantage.

Flexible and organised individual
Must have keen attention to detail and friendly disposition.
Creative person who enjoys African music
Keen archivist and interest in history.
Problem solver, resourceful nature
Thorough in their work and able to work under very tight deadlines
Renumeration:
Travel expenses and a bursary allowance based on qualifcation and experience offered.
Working Hours: 3 days a week. Office hours: 9:30am - 5:30pm
Location: Ladbroke Grove, West London although some days will be spent at the exhibiton venue in Kennington South East London.
Time line: Immediate start - to August 31st, 2007.
